Freedom of Speech, and limits?

In the Constitution of Canada's charter of rights and freedom, section 3.6 states that we have a freedom of thought,belief, and opinion. Without thought we would not be where we are today as a multicultural society. Different people's thought's and opinion went so far, that today woman are able to vote. Different people, of different backgrounds, religion, and color are able to come together in a peaceful assemble, and not be discouraged. Everyones opinion is unique, and special, that without different opinions we wouldn't have; computers, cars, iPod's, cellphones, and all the other gizmo's that we all love so much. The question is whether freedom of speech should be limited?

People have the right to freedom of speech, and the way you use that speech is up to you. But violating that law you can make all the difference in someone else's life. You can hurt people with the language that is spoken, you can turn a peaceful assemble into a slaughter house, and you would be the blame! Someone is saying that woman shouldn't be able to vote, even though this comment is made by a woman. In my opinion I think this comment is complete bull! Woman being able to vote, gives us woman a sense of power, and a sense of being equal to men. It gives us a sense of just. and equalization. Having that been taken away, then what do we have? But if freedom of speech were to be limited, then you are taking away our rights. A wise man said that if you were to take away our freedom of speech then it would be like a military state, where you are controlled. And we would not want that because, everyone has a hard time with listening and following other's orders (you know your one of them).

People should realize just how powerful freedom of speech is! It could turn out to be something good, or something the complete opposite. But in my own opinion i do think freedom of speech should be limited, but only when it comes to being racist, prejudice, and another 'ist's, that would cause murders, suicides, and violence. That being said, nothing other should change because if we didn't have such aware people we wouldn't know what other beliefs are going on around the world; like the environmentalist for pollution, animal rights groups, UNICEF for donations and helping the poor, and all the other people that care, and have to rally up people just to make the slightest difference! Freedom of speech gives us the chance to know what others think, and gives us the answer or question to, if what we are doing as humans is the right thing! Freedom of speech should be used in a positive way that doesn't make someone what to shoot someone just because of whats being said.
